The Krampus procession (Krampuslauf) is a tradition generally performed on a certain day from the beginning of the advent season up to the first half of January. People organised in groups named Pass run in costumes created by themselves through the streets and try to frighten the spectators.
While staying at the event location Scalaria in December 2005, I saw many photos and posters of this great water plane: the Dornier DO24 TT. It reminded me that the Scalaria Air Challenge takes place in the sky above lake Wolfgangsee every year.
A particular program point of the Vienna Classic Days 2014 was a parade of all participating cars along the Ringstraße. Unfortunately a heavy rain took place just at that very moment. Well, perhaps the water spray around all those classic cars made this event even more exciting. [German]
On certain days one can watch the Hoch- und Deutschmeister band in Vienna playing in their traditional uniforms of before 1918. This military band has its origins in the k.u.k. Lower Austrian Infantry Regiment Hoch- und Deutschmeister No. 4. [German]
My first visit to the Natura.Kreativ led me to the Reitlehenalm, an alpine pasture near Altenmarkt im Pongau. Right in the middle of the hills, a class in voice training took place. The teacher was Annelie Leuthäuser, an experienced theatre and concert singer.
The Ruhrtriennale is an annual music and arts festival in the Ruhr area of Germany. The locations of the Ruhrtriennale are generally industrial heritage sites like the Jahrhunderthalle in Bochum, the Zeche Zollverein or the Landschaftspark Duisburg-Nord.
The Jahrhunderthalle is a venue for such famous events as the Ruhrtriennale. Interesting detail: The hall stands on top of an existing plant. After raising the soil to the level of the new building, the first plant became part of the basement.
Today the topic of #FriFotos is labeled #Style. That reminds me of a strange encounter in Vienna some years ago. It started with two ladies who walked in front of me. At that time I thought: Pretty stylish but a bit dated. But this is only the beginning of the story…

Every year a large skating rink in front of the Viennese city hall is a big attraction for the people of Vienna. The ice rink extends not only in front of the neo-Gothic building but also at nearby Rathauspark.
On January 1st, many people are watching the Vienna New Year’s Concert on TV every year. Only a few have enjoyed the concert personally.
Tonight I visited an event at the Great Gallery of Schönbrunn Palace (Schloss Schönbrunn). It took place for those people who were able to accomplish a kind of treasure hunt with questions about the palace and its inhabitants.
