Shop sign of a hat shop in Linz. I’ve no idea why the faces are green but the green colour makes the sign even more remarkable. The decoration on the right side is part of the Christmas decoration 2014.

On a harbour tour with a boat of the company ‘Wurm+Köck’ in Linz we also entered this shipyard founded in 1840 and still producing and overhauling ships. My first impression: ‘Gosh, how neat and green such a slipway can be’.

One of my favourite diversions: Taking photos of decorations which don’t fit to the geography of the region. So I took this pic of an elephant seen at a building at the main square of Linz. The house is also known for being the home of a cellar theatre (Kellertheater) which generally performs comedies.

During a stopover in Linz, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote the Symphony No. 36 (Linz Symphony) in this building located in the historic centre of the city. The Mozarthaus isn’t open for public but the inner court is worth a visit though.

No Sorrows Tower in Linz

View of the No Sorrows Tower from the Castle Hill

While having lunch at the restaurant Schlossbrasserie on top of the castle hill I caught sight of this tower located in the centre of Linz. The 30 metres high tower made of wood is named No Sorrow Tower (Keine Sorgen Turm) and is part of the event Höhenrausch. Later I had a good view of the New Cathedral from there.
