I love to visit construction sites of museums. They help to understand how the interior structure of the exhibition building is designed. With curiosity and blue protective coatings on my shoes, I enter the shell construction of the Bauhaus Museum in Weimar. Its opening is scheduled for April 2019. [German]
The date is well chosen. In April 1919, Walter Gropius founded the State Bauhaus (Staatliches Bauhaus). This did not only create trend-setting buildings. The arts and crafts were also revived. A good overview of the Bauhaus related products and artworks will provide this museum at the founding site of the Bauhaus.
