View of the saint at the Zwiebelmusterhaus

The Zwiebelmusterhaus in Sank Pölten surprised me with its wall decoration of 168 plates. Later I learned the Zwiebelmuster is a pretty famous porcelain tableware pattern for dishware.

The Zwiebelmuster

The Zwiebelmuster saw its first production in the German manufacture of Meissen. In English, this pattern is named Blue Onion. It is a further development of Asian works.

Sculpture of a Saint

The Zwiebelmusterhaus displays not only plates. It also shows the sculpture of a Saint. This is a common decoration in Catholic parts of Austria. You often see such statues in the corner of a building or a niche above the door.
