While waiting for the Railjet to Zurich, I glimpsed at Schattenburg Castle (Schattenburg). One day, I’ll come back to visit the museum inside. 18 historic furnished rooms tell about the history of the castle and its region.

While passing the railway station of Hohenems with an Austrian commuter train I took this photo of a mural with historical background. It refers to the fact that parts of the ‘Song of the Nibelungs’ (Nibelungenlied) has been found in Hohenems.

After leaving the Albula Railway at St. Moritz Station you may enter the city by the Via Serlas. This is a shopping street with a lot of high-class trade marks. Another fascinating building is the Badrutt’s Palace, a five stars hotel with remarkable facade.

That’s a fun idea: You travel with the Albula Railway up to the railway station Preda in the Swiss canton of Graubünden and sledge down to Bergün by a sledge. On my train journey to St Moritz, I saw many passengers leaving the train at this small station heading to a nearby sledge rental.

Pic of my train taken while sitting in the last coach. The train is just passing the famous Landwasser Viaduct of the Albula Railway, a world heritage site in Switzerland. In this huge scenery my train looks like a tiny object of a model railway layout, doesn’t it?

On the Rhaetian Railway travelling from Chur to St. Moritz. A storybook landscape, isn’t it?

A view from the panorama coach of the Albula Railway during winter time.

View through a panorama window of the Albula Railway in Switzerland. This railway links Thusis with the spa resort of St Moritz in Engadine . The large windows offered a great view of the Landscapes. Some places I even saw three times as there are some loops on the way.

The Albula Railway links Thusis with St Moritz in Graubünden, Switzerland. Though I had to pay an extra fee, taking the dome car was a good decision. So I had a good view of upcoming sights like the Landwasser Viaduct

Strange! At the Swiss railway station St Margrethen one have to make its customs declaration by signing a form and putting it into this box. One will get a bill later to the mentioned address.
