Old synagogue (11th century) of Erfurt, Germany

The Old Synagogue in Erfurt is considered the oldest synagogue in Central Europe that has been preserved up to its roof. Some parts of it date back to the 11th century. Its cellar houses the famous Erfurt Treasure found near the synagogue.

Jewish-Medieval Heritage of Erfurt

Since 2023, the Old Synagogue in Erfurt has been a World Heritage Site. Together with the so-called Stone House and a former Mikveh, it is part of the Jewish-Medieval Heritage of Erfurt.
