Hallors and Saline Museum in Halle (Saale), Germany

The museum was established in 1967 in the buildings of the former Royal Prussian saline to Halle (Saale). In these rooms, salt is still traditionally extracted. At regular events, the visitors look over the Hallors’ shoulders during salt production. [German]

Costume of a hallor and lance for water yousting

Besides the costume of the Hallors with its typical 18 buttons, the lance is an interesting object. With such lances, the tradition of water jousting is still practised up to the present day. In Halle (Saale) one can follow this tradition during the lantern festival (Hallesches Laternenfest).
