Before the invention of photos, a different method existed for learning new things about the world. Landscapists created huge paintings of cities and scenes. Inside the Panorama Museum, visitors find a depiction of Salzburg dating back to 1829.

The Panorama Museum is part of the Salzburg Museum. I found it in rooms next to the Salzburg Museum for many years. In 2025, it started to move to the Orangerie in the Mirabell Garden. The opening is expected for 2026.
