Monument of Archduke Charles at Heldenplatz

This equestrian statue was erected in 1860 to the memory of Archduke Charles of Austria, Duke of Teschen. The most interesting fact of this statue is the pose of the horse. It stands with two legs only on the pedestal, the tail doesn’t support the construction.

The monument is placed at the Heldenplatz (Heroes’ Square) in Vienna.
