What a Lego®-like castle! But Hohenzollern Castle in Heiligendamm is more a guest residence than a castle. Grand Duke Paul Friedrich commissioned the building to accommodate his noble guests. [German]
Hohenzollern Castle (Burg Hohenzollern) was built in the 1840s. The idea was to create something romantic. The style of the Tudor castles influenced the architect Georg Adolf Demmler (1804-1886) while he visited England. Today, the building is part of an ensemble run by the Grand Hotel Heiligendamm.
