The church of Sveti Nikola was built in the 11th century. During the Ottoman Wars the dome of the church has been converted into a crenelated tower. Situated on top of a small hill this church offers a remarkable view for visitors of Nin.
During Roman period Zadar was known as Iader or Colonia Iulia Iader. The remnants of the Roman forum are near the Archaeological Museum of Zadar, where one can see a collection of ancient Roman pieces.
