Today I tried the Premium Class on the Austrian railjet. I was so bold to start my train year with choosing the seat N° 13.

Now that I call an appetizing name for a train! This train connecting Vienna with Freilassing (Germany) is named ‘Gutes Essen im Zug’ (English: ‘Good meals on train’)

The journey is over. I have reached the entrance hall of my town’s railway station. So what did I learn by this special trip in December?

Having lunch at a Czech dining car: Marinated Beef Sirloin served with bread dumplings (‘Svíčková na smetaně s houskovými knedlíky’).

The 10th day of my InterRail journey started in Vienna. My destination on that day was Brno in Czechia. From my train, I had an excellent view of the construction site for the new Vienna Central Station (Wiener Hauptbahnhof).

10th day of my InterRail Journey: A visit in Brno, Czech Republic. A Czech EuroCity is waiting for me in Vienna.

It was in Merano where I finally came across a train that didn’t accept my InterRail pass! 🙂

It is a fascinating place to spend your wait at the railway station of Innsbruck: The info point about the Brenner Base Tunnel.

The 8th day of my InterRail trip ended in Innsbruck. The idea to travel from the Baltic Sea to the Alps was implemented. By the way the two artworks at the railway station were created by Max Weiler.

A detail I really love: On my way from Hamburg to Munich a lady boarded the ICE and sold Brezel until she left the train at the next station. I was told in summer they are selling ice cream instead. Nice idea, isn’t it? Is there a similar service in your region too?

My first stop on my 8th day of my InterRail journey: Lübeck. I just love these halls of old railway stations. You?

After using an InterRail pass for many days it’s time to sum up what tips I could put down for using such a great offer.
