Mägdebrunnen in Stralsund

The Mägdebrunnen (Maidservants Fountain) in Stralsund is a work by the sculptor Günter Kaden. You find the fountain in the Fährstraße, a lane in the inner city of Stralsund. [German]

 The Mägdebrunnen

Günter Kaden created the three bronze figurines and the basin carved from a boulder in 2003. His website told me the working title was 3-Mädchen-Brunnen (Three Girls Fountain).

On the other hand, I read the title Mägdebrunnen (Maidservants Fountain) in tourism resources several times. Locals told me the group is known as Die Geschwätzigen Weiber (The Garrulous Women). Well, that sounds not that wrong.

Anyway, you’ll find this fun fountain in the inner city of Stralsund, which is part of the World Heritage Site ‘Historic Centres of Stralsund and Wismar’.
