The Linzergasse is, after the Getreidegasse, the second most famous shopping street in Salzburg. In the past, several gates secured this access lane. Today, the Linzertor Mural reminds pedestrians of one of these gates named Linzertor.

While walking through the Czech city Tabor I came across this funny fireplug. Tabor is a historic city in the region of South Bohemia, Czech Republic. An attraction of this place is an accessible system of tunnels below the city.

Knin Fortress is considered the second-largest fortress in Croatia. Its construction started in the 9th century. Today, you see it in a state brought up in the 17th and 18th centuries. In one of its buildings, you find the Knin Museum.

It’s a landmark when I take the train through the Mur Valley. When I see it, it’s not far from Graz: Rabenstein Castle. Its old stone walls make it look like an inhospitable knight’s castle. Inside, it surprises with beautiful halls and a collection of Japanese artworks.

After arriving at the railway station Südbahnhof, I went down to the centre of Vienna through Belvedere Gardens. Only a snow-covered Sphinx sculpture watched my steps to the Lower Belvedere, which you see in the background.

On a cold winter day, I walked through the gardens of Prince Eugene’s summer palace. The Upper Belvedere Palace (Oberes Belvedere), as shown above, was only used for representation.

During my visit to Nuremberg, locals told me there was a guy with a gondola licence. After some hours watching the river in the middle of the city, I was able to catch him in a photo. The building in the background is named Heilig-Geist-Spital. It served as a home for old and sick people in earlier times.

After a visit to the stud Piber, I had the chance to drive up to the summer pasture of those Lipizzan horses who will perform at the Spanish Riding School in Vienna in their later life. You find this pasture on top of a Styrian alp.

In 2003, the capital city of Styria got the title ‘European Capital of Culture’. In the same year, Graz Central Station was renovated. At that time, artist Peter Kogler decorated the entrance hall of the railway station in his unmistakable style.
