The Bummerlhaus in Steyr

I did know the German word Bummerl as a term used in card games. But in the city of Steyr, I learned a different story about the meaning of the Bummerlhaus.

In this region, a little dog is also called a Bummerl. The inn sign of the building showed a Golden Lion, but people considered the lion as a sort of small dog. That way, the building got its nickname.
