The Wintermarkt (Winter market) isn’t really a Christmas market and actually its name doesn’t claim to be one. Though I paid a visit on my Christmas market tour through Vienna as the location is very special. The market is located at the entrance area of the Wurstelprater, a fun mile of Vienna.
My first impression: It’s really a fun mile but the offered goods are rather the same like at other Christmas markets of Vienna. Gluhwein, sausages, some artwork and toys. The atmosphere is special though as the place is dominated by a lot of lights from the nearby wax museum of Madame Tussauds and the huge steel wheel called Wiener Riesenrad.
