One of the lesser known Christmas markets of Vienna is that one at the Türkenschanzpark. The specialty of this market is the history of the place and the fountain depicted above. During the siege of Vienna in 1683 there were a lot Ottoman entrenchments ([german] Türkische Schanzen) right at this place.
The Christmas market offers general Christmas items like Gluhwein, hot food, some artwork and toys. The centre of the market is a fountain named Yunus-Emre-Brunnen which has been erected in 1991 as a sign for Austrian-Turkish friendship.
